Don't let a sleep disorder ruin your night

Living with a sleep disorder can affect your quality of life. Sleep disorders affect millions of people. Yet, many do not realize that they have a sleep disorder. At Parkview Physicians Group – Sleep Medicine, our specialists are trained to help you get a better night's sleep and regain your life.

Sleep is essential for good health. When you don’t get enough quality sleep, it affects your physical and emotional health, as well as how you function in the workplace and during other daily activities. Poor quality sleep can increase your risk for high-blood pressure, stroke and sudden cardiac arrest. If you have ongoing difficulties in getting quality sleep, speak to your doctor about testing for a sleep disorder.

Assessment and diagnostic testing

As part of your initial assessment, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire and perhaps a sleep diary. This information will help your provider determine if an in-lab or at-home sleep study is necessary.

Sleep studies use digital equipment to monitor your sleep activity, heart rate and breathing patterns. The results will help your physician make a diagnosis and recommend a treatment plan.
