Parkview learning opportunities for college and undergraduate students

Parkview offers several unique learning and clinical opportunities for college and undergraduate students. For those still discovering their chosen career field, we offer job shadows and observations, allowing students to experience a variety of clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital system. For those with decided majors, Parkview’s academies, internships, clinicals and Student Nurse Program allow students to dive into their chosen field and complete college credits.

Academies

Parkview currently offers two academies, the Parkview Behavioral Health Academy and the Parkview ECHO Academy.

Parkview Behavioral Health Academy: This program allows Masters of Social Work students to complete their required learning hours toward their degree and LCSW certification at Parkview. At the end of every successfully completed semester (up to two), the student will receive a completion bonus. The intent is for students who successfully complete the academy to be hired into a LCSW role at Parkview. Students may apply to this program through their school. Current school partners include Indiana University Fort Wayne and Ball State.

Parkview ECHO Academy: This program is a partnership between Parkview Heart Institute and the University of Saint Francis (USF). Students are able to work as a fully benefited .6 ultrasound technician at PHI while completing the ECHO program at USF. All clinical hours for the ECHO program will be completed at PHI with the intent to offer ECHO positions to students upon graduation. Students may apply to this program through USF.
