Chief Academic Research Officer, Parkview Health
Michael Mirro began serving as chief academic research officer at Parkview Health in 2014. Partnering with Parkview’s chief digital and innovation officer, Dr. Mirro provides clinical leadership over clinical research, health service informatics research, the Parkview Health Advanced Medical Simulation Center, innovation program and graduate medical education.
He is also Clinical Professor of MedÂicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor of Bioinformatics at Indiana University.
Dr. Mirro has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and serves on the editorial board for the Cardiovascular Digital Health Journal. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians and Heart Rhythm Society.
Actively involved in the Indiana business community, he currently chairs the Northeast Indiana Elevate Ventures Board of Directors and serves on the Deans Advisory Council for the IU School of Informatics/Computing/Engineering. He also serves as a Trustee for Indiana University. He is an active board member for BioCrossroads and 16 Tech, both Indianapolis-based economic development organizations. He is also a board member at Zorion Medical; medical director of VisCardia in Beverton, Oregon; and serves as a scientific advisor for iRhythm, Murj, and Bailard Emerging Opportunities Fund, all located in San Francisco.
Dr. Mirro earned a bachelor's degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and a medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. In 2004, he was presented with an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Indiana University. He has received board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology and geriatric medicine.
