You have been referred to the Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic at Parkview Heart Institute because your physician has determined that you or a family member has a heart condition which is passed on through your family genes. A collaborative approach is followed in the Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic. After patients see a cardiologist in the clinic for an initial assessment, they are referred to a genetic counselor for a phone consultation. Informed DNA, a national provider of genetic counseling services, will contact the patient within a week from the time the referral is received to schedule a telephone appointment.
