Loving Her Heart – Body, Mind and Spirit
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. It is also a leading cause of disability among women. Although it’s easy to forget about the importance of heart health, as women, it is especially important to pay attention. A heart-healthy lifestyle is the first step in taking better care of ourselves and our hearts. You deserve a healthy heart.
Her Heart of Parkview Heart Institute exists to inspire women to live heart-healthy lifestyles and to empower women to live well with heart disease through awareness, education, prevention and support.
Women are unique. Heart disease affects women differently than it does men. For example, plaque might build up differently in a woman's arteries so that a doctor cannot see a blockage during a diagnostic test. Researchers are trying to understand these differences to help find the best ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat women who have heart disease.
