Laura Murphy, director of clinical services, Parkview Behavioral Health Institute, reminds us to take care of our own mental wellness and consider that of others, no matter how hectic the holidays get.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, right? Not necessarily. For some, the holidays bring up complex emotions tied to grief and loss, loneliness, and other painful reminders. Know that it's okay to not be okay, even when others are jolly and joyful, and that you are not alone.
This holiday season, show yourself love and compassion by accepting how you feel without judgment, setting healthy boundaries, being of service to someone in need, maintaining healthy habits, and setting time aside for self-care!
