Temporary visitor restrictions
Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 12, all Parkview hospitals will be enforcing temporary visitation restrictions due to widespread influenza A (flu) activity. The Indiana Department of Health reports influenza-like activity is at its highest point for the season.
The following hospital visitor restrictions are in place:
- No visitors 12 years of age or younger, unless an exception is granted by the care team
- Two visitors permitted per patient at a time, unless an exception is granted by the care team
- All visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.
These restrictions are in place to protect patients, staff and visitors by minimizing flu transmission. Restrictions are subject to change and may vary by unit.
Please do the following to help stop the spread of flu:
- Get vaccinated. It’s not too late to get your flu shot, and immunizations are available at doctor’s offices, pharmacies and the Allen County Department of Health.
- Wash hands frequently. Use soap and warm water, when possible. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, if soap and water are unavailable.
- Cover coughs and sneezes. Cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve/elbow, not your hands.
