WABASH, IND. – Parkview Health President and CEO Mike Packnett today joined health system and community leaders to celebrate the placement of the final steel beam at the new Parkview Wabash Hospital. The two-story, 80,000 square foot facility, located at 1800 N. Wabash St. off U.S. 24, will create approximately 14 new jobs in Wabash. The hospital campus will also include a 31,000 square foot medical office building that will be home to Parkview Physicians Group.
“Today we celebrate an exciting milestone for both Parkview and the Wabash community as a whole,” said Packnett. “It’s our goal to meet our patients and their families where they are in their personal health journey and partner with them to meet their goals. The new Parkview Wabash Hospital will help us do just that, allowing us to expand access, improve integration and advance healthcare in the community.”
Services offered at the new Parkview Wabash Hospital campus include:

“We really thought about the community’s needs when we designed this facility,” said Marilyn Custer-Mitchell, president, Parkview Wabash Hospital. “Women’s health, in particular, was a service area we identified as a growth opportunity, and so far the feedback has been outstanding. The community, as well as our team, is really looking forward to this service expansion.”
The medical office building located on the campus will house approximately 15 physicians from Parkview Physicians Group. In addition to primary care, specialties will include cardiology, pulmonology, podiatry, colon and rectal surgery, gynecology and orthopedics.
“We have set out to build a world-class facility here in Wabash and we couldn’t be more excited to see this hospital come to life,” added Custer-Mitchell. “Our current hospital has served us well but is more than 55 years old. Our replacement facility will meet our growing needs both as a community and also as a team of compassionate caregivers, supporting the well-being of Wabash to ultimately lead to better outcomes and an improved quality of life.”
The hospital is expected to be complete in 2018. The architect for Parkview Wabash Hospital is Moake Park Group, Inc. and the general contractor is The Hagerman Group.
