FORT WAYNE, IND. – SEPT. 27, 2023 – Parkview Health is among the top 10 best employers in Indiana, according to the 2023 Forbes list of America’s Best-in-State Employers.
Parkview, northeast Indiana’s largest employer, was ranked ninth on this year’s list, which recognized 73 businesses operating in Indiana. It’s the second consecutive year Parkview has made the Best-in-State listing, improving from the No. 26 position in 2022. The health system was also previously named to Forbes’ America’s Best Employers lists in 2018 and 2019.
“Being ranked within the top 10 companies in Indiana on Forbes’ prestigious list is a great honor for Parkview,” said Rick Henvey, CEO, Parkview Health. “This national recognition is a testament to our culture, which shines through our more than 15,000 co-workers. We are proud of their commitment to excellence and hope their work inspires more people to join us in providing excellent care to every person, every day.”
“Healthcare is one of the most rewarding careers for those who have a passion for serving others,” said Dena Jacquay, chief administrative officer, Parkview Health. “We are grateful that our co-workers are being recognized in such a special way for the work they do across the region.”
The recognition is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. America's Best-in-State Employers for 2023 were identified based on 2.1 million employer recommendations from employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in the United States. The recommended employers have been grouped into one of the 25 industry sectors. Employers with operations in more than one state were ranked in multiple states.
The evaluation was made on a state-by-state basis and is based on three distinct criteria, including in-state indirect recommendations, national in-industry indirect recommendations and direct recommendations. Furthermore, employees were asked to give their opinions on a series of statements surrounding work-related topics, such as working conditions, diversity, salary, potential for development and company image regarding their current employer.
Two co-workers recently shared their praises for Parkview:
“Parkview is so kind to their employees,” said Christina Engel, licensed practical nurse, Parkview Physicians Group. “I have never worked for a more caring company, and I am so happy to be a part of the Parkview team!”
“I have been with Parkview for eight and a half years and it is by far the best organization I have had the privilege to be a part of,” said Kathy Fisher, director of nursing services, Parkview Hospital Randallia. “I have worked for some great hospitals but Parkview by far exceeds the level of support, ability to grow, and the excellence to be the best I have ever experienced in my career. I plan to work here until the day I retire. I have loved every minute of this outstanding organization.”
The Forbes recognition is the latest in a series of awards Parkview has received for its workforce culture and service to patients. Earlier this year, Parkview was named a Most Loved Workplace by the Best Practices Institute, was recognized among the Best & Brightest In Wellness by the National Association for Business Resources and was selected as the top medium-sized healthcare system for patient excellence by NRC Health.
