Parkview Bryan Hospital unveils robotic surgery system

BRYAN, OHIO – Feb. 24, 2025 – Parkview Bryan Hospital has entered a new era in patient care. The hospital has launched a robotic-assisted surgery program using the da Vinci® Xi Surgical System, and area residents are invited to attend an open house for an exclusive live demonstration of this remarkable technology.

WHAT: Parkview Bryan Hospital will host an open house to give community members the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art surgical system up close. Knowledgeable team members will be on-site to answer questions and showcase the capabilities of this innovative system.

Although termed a “robot,” the sophisticated da Vinci Surgical System is a device that is fully operated by an experienced surgeon in the operating room. The system enables the surgeon to view structures inside the patient’s body in very fine detail and perform delicate operations with a high degree of precision. Incisions can be smaller and fewer, and the entire process is less invasive than traditional surgery. The highly versatile da Vinci system can be used for various types of surgery in the abdomen, where organs and other internal structures are densely layered.

WHY: The Parkview Bryan team is excited to add robotic-assisted surgery to the list of its many services available to northwest Ohio residents and is ready to familiarize community members with new capabilities. Robotic surgery represents a win-win: greater instrument control, increased efficiency and clearer visibility for surgeons translate into a better overall experience for patients thanks to less blood loss during procedures; faster, less painful recovery; shorter hospital stays; minimal scarring; and lower risk of infection and complications.

WHEN:  Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

WHERE:  Parkview Bryan Dining Room, 433 W. High St., Bryan, Ohio
