Emergency and urgent care in southwest Fort Wayne

Parkview Southwest Outpatient Center's innovative care model offers emergency and urgent care in one convenient location. We understand that deciding whether you or a loved one needs urgent or emergency care can be difficult and stressful. By offering these services in one location, we take away the guess work. That means, when you’re sick or injured, simply come to Parkview Southwest and you’ll receive the level of care you need from our expert team.

At the Parkview Southwest Outpatient Center emergency department, you never need an appointment. Our ED is open 24/7. Urgent Care is open 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

What makes urgent care different from an emergency room or walk-in clinic visit?

Urgent care provides more complex care than an office visit or a walk-in clinic, but not as extensive as an emergency department visit. When a medical condition requires administration of IV medications or more than a simple x-ray, patients are sent to the emergency department. At Parkview Southwest, our skilled emergency care providers and nurses are here to help determine the appropriate care for you.

What can I expect when I arrive at Parkview Southwest?

Every Parkview Southwest patient is greeted by our ED staff and will be placed in one of our 14 patient care rooms, as if they were an emergency department patient. Our care team will assess the severity of their illness as soon as possible. Once the emergency medicine physician or advanced practice provider has evaluated the patient’s health condition, the level of care (urgent care or emergency care) will be determined, based on the medical care required.

Who are the providers at Parkview Southwest Urgent Care?

Your care team at Parkview Southwest is made up of emergency care professionals, including skilled emergency care nurses, board-certified emergency medicine physicians and physician assistants.

How will I be billed when I go to Urgent Care?

If your medical condition only requires urgent care services and you arrive between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., you or your insurance will only be billed for urgent care services.
