ELSO Award of Excellence in Life Support – Gold Level
Parkview Regional Medical Center has been awarded the Gold Level ELSO Award for Excellence in Life Support by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization. This award recognizes ECLS programs worldwide that distinguish themselves by having processes, procedures and systems in place that promote excellence and exceptional care in providing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation to their patients.
The ELSO Award signifies to patients and families a commitment to exceptional patient care. It also demonstrates to the healthcare community an assurance of high-quality standards, specialized equipment and supplies, defined patient protocols, and advanced education of all staff members.
Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC)
Status as an accredited Center of Excellence means that Parkview has met nationally recognized standards, and healthcare organizations and surgeons seeking accreditation by SRC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site inspection. The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization or surgeon improve care and services. This accreditation signifies an institution that is recognized for providing the highest quality of care to patients, as determined through an independent, external process of evaluation.
Get with the Guidelines - AFib Gold quality achievement
The Parkview Heart Institute received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - AFib Gold quality achievement award for its commitment to managing atrial fibrillation (AFib), ultimately helping to reduce patients’ stroke risk.
The Get With The Guidelines – AFib quality achievement award is earned by hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to treating patients according to the most up-to-date, research-based guidelines as outlined by the American Heart Association. Get With The Guidelines puts the expertise of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to work for hospitals nationwide, helping ensure patient care is aligned with the latest evidence- and research-based guidelines.
Each year, program participants qualify for the award by demonstrating how their organization has committed to providing quality AFib care. In addition to following treatment guidelines, Get With The Guidelines participants also educate patients to help them manage their AFib at home.
Get With The Guidelines makes it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, which studies show can help patients recover better. The end goal is to ensure more patients can experience longer, healthier lives.
Parkview Heart Institute outcomes
Measuring and understanding outcomes of medical treatments promotes quality improvement. Parkview Heart Institute, in alliance with Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute, has worked to compile a summary of surgical and medical treatments, with data on PHI’s patient volumes and outcomes as well as a review of new technologies and innovations.
