Basic & Beyond Parenting Class

The anxiety of caring for your newborn can be overwhelming and tiring. Join Jessica Klausing, RN-BSN, LCCE, family birthing center, Parkview Whitley Hospital, so you can feel more confident with basic parenting skills and much more. This course will also help mothers-to-be and their partners explore the physical, emotional and social aspects of childbirth.  

Cost: Free

Breastfeeding Support Group - Parkview Regional Medical Center (Fridays)

This group meets every Tuesday evening (7-8 pm) in the Family Birthing Center conference room, and Friday morning (9-10 am) at Entrance 4 in the third-floor conference room. Excluding holidays.

This is a drop-in group, no appointment needed (Mom and baby preferred).   Lactation consultants are available to help with breast feeding needs, weight-based feeding assessment and pumping concerns.

Mom's Group

Mom’s Group is a support group where moms can go to have their baby weighed, have questions answered by a Parkview lactation consultant and RN, and interact with other moms. Mom’s Group also features crafts for moms to do with their children.

Moms on the Move: Stroller, Stride and Stroll

Join our certified Oh Baby instructors as they guide you through a total body conditioning workout designed for moms and babies. Each 60-minute workout is comprised of strength training, cardio and core restoration with fun and fellowship added to the mix. In case of inclement weather, the class will meet in the Parkview Center for Healthy Living and will be either a cardio or strength format. As part of the program, nutrition support will be provided by a registered dietitian from Parkview Health throughout the six-week session. Scholarships are available upon request for this 7-week session for a 7-week membership. This is made possible through a community health improvement grant through Parkview Health. 

Cost: Free to YMCA Members and free to non-members through October 1 due to a grant from Parkview Foundation.
