Live Well with Diabetes

Center for Healthy Living, Support Groups

Live Well with Diabetes is an 8-week interactive program open to area residents who have been diagnosed with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes and are interested in learning about lifestyle changes. Led by registered dietitians, you can plan to learn about the nutritional guidelines to eating well for blood sugar support, be encouraged to participate in low-impact physical activity sessions as well as experience hands-on cooking classes. Guest speakers from various healthcare backgrounds will be invited to share education around diabetes during this 8-week program. This interactive program is provided in partnership with Purdue Extension Noble County and the Cole Center Family YMCA. Space is limited! 

Cost: $10 per guest. Scholarships are available upon request. 

Registration is required by Thursday, Sept. 12. Call 260-347-8125 to register.

Schedule a 20-minute one-on-one consultation with a registered dietitian to have your questions answered on diet, nutrition or other food-related issues. Consultations are offered in person at the Community Learning Center in Kendallville or by phone.

The Parkview Noble Parkinson’s Support Group focuses on enriching the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s disease through:

Herbs 101 – From Root to Plate

Cooking with herbs can spice up everyday meals with color, flavor, fragrance and nutritional benefits.  In this class, we will explore how to cultivate herbs, culinary practices and the health benefits of herbs! Samples of herbal lemonade will be available as well as the opportunity to make your own pesto! This class is brought to you in partnership with Purdue Extension, Noble County Master Gardeners and the Parkview Center for Healthy Living. Registration is limited and required. Be sure to register early to reserve your spot! Scholarships are available by request.
