Our hiring leaders are excited to meet with job seekers and share opportunities in their departments. We have an onsite application station where recruiters can help job seekers navigate the online application. There is also potential for onsite interviews. These events are also a great opportunity to make a positive and memorable first impression on hiring leaders.
What should attendees expect to gain from interacting with recruiters and leaders at a career expo?
Attendees have the opportunity to network with leaders and recruiters from the organization for which they hope to work. It’s also a great opportunity for attendees to gain insight into company culture.
What is the best way to prepare for a career expo to make the most of the experience?
You should plan to dress professionally for the event. Another way that attendees can prepare is by thinking of a few questions they can ask hiring leaders about their open positions and department. Being prepared is a great way to make a positive and memorable first impression on hiring leaders.
Are there specific materials or documents that attendees should bring to a career expo?
Have copies of your resume to give to hiring leaders so they know who they talked to at the career expo and have contact information to follow up after the event.
How can attendees stand out when meeting potential employers or recruiters at the expo?
It’s important to be conversational and ask questions. Be intentional with your approach and don’t rely on the person behind the table to do all of the talking. It’s also helpful to do some research and have an idea of opportunities you would be interested in prior to attending the event.
