This week’s National Safety Month focus in on an area of risk most of us are vulnerable to: Falls. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 95 percent of hip fractures are caused by falling. Falls are also the most common cause of traumatic brain injuries.

For some, falls result in a bruised ego, skinned knees or broken bones. For others, falls can signal the beginning of major lifestyle changes, or even lead to death. Take the time to review these simple steps for reducing your risk.
