Cyber-attacks are rising at an alarming rate. According to the Identity Theft Resource Center's 2023 Annual Data Breach Report, a 72% increase in data breaches between 2021 and 2023 has resulted in over 353 million victims. With October being National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, this statistic is a helpful reminder about internet security.

To ensure your patient data remains safe and secure at every touchpoint, starting this January, Parkview MyChart® is adding an extra layer of protection for all account users.

Two-step verification

Also known as two-factor or multi-factor authentication, MyChart two-step verification is an extra "lock" for your account. After you enter your password, MyChart will text or email you a unique code. This code, sent only to you, must be entered before you can finish logging in.

It's easy and takes only a few minutes! Here's how it works:

With Parkview MyChart Two-Step Verification, you'll only be asked to enter a code once every 30 days. It’s a small step for big peace of mind! Use this link to turn on two-step verification today.

Broader digital defense

Protecting your health information is just the beginning. If you haven't already, be sure to activate this extra security layer wherever it is available, including social media, banking and other accounts that store your important personal data.
