We’ve talked at great length about the many benefits of regular exercise. Consistency and motivation are the two biggest struggles when hitting our movement goals. Here, we’ll discuss some simple ways to maintain independent movement and share some examples of moves that can keep you strong and balanced.
Keeping a movement routine
If you’re struggling to stay consistent with exercise, consider these suggestions:
- Avoid burnout. Start conservative and increase your intensity of fitness over time.
- Look forward to your fitness. Have a favorite podcast? Save it for your daily walk or workout!
- Plan ahead. Lay out your favorite workout clothes the night before. Remember, reducing any sources of friction to achieving your goal breeds consistency.
- Any movement is good movement. Find movement that makes you feel good! Independent fitness is a personal journey that can look and feel different for everyone. The key is to find movement that not only physically stimulates but also improves your mental health. Make time for at least one session a week to find movement that truly benefits your mood.
