Hospice Care

Compassionate, end-of-life care

At Parkview Hospice, we provide specialized healthcare to individuals who have terminal illnesses. Our team of compassionate, caring healthcare professionals develop a comprehensive care plan for each patient and offer the support and services they need in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Because hospice care is designed to provide comfort and emotional support wherever a patient calls home, we care for those who are living at their personal residences, in a nursing or assisted living facility, or at the Supportive Care Unit (SCU) at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Although outpatient care is provided through regularly scheduled visits, hospice staff members are available 24/7 to assist if needed. Those who qualify for inpatient care at SCU receive the ongoing observation and management they require, while allowing family members and caregivers time to rest and recharge.

No matter the individual’s needs, Parkview Hospice provides the holistic, personalized care every patient deserves during the final stages of life.

Please note that a physician order is required for Parkview hospice services.

“To care for people and their families in their darkest hours requires an extraordinary person, and they all were. You could tell their hearts were in the job.”

“When my husband, John, was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, we began with palliative care and then went into hospice. The hospice environment and care team went absolutely beyond any and all expectations.”

Hospice volunteer and wife of late hospice patient, John

"You can't stop human beings from worrying, but hospice gave us a chance to be concerned with Vera and only Vera. They did all the heavy lifting. All we had to do was be present, and I don't think you can put a dollar amount on that."

Embracing life with hospice care

"I came home one day from work, and his nurse Amy was here, and they were just talking about the usual things, books and music. She didn't have to act as a nurse and he didn't have to be the patient.”

- Debra, wife of late hospice patient, Brian
