Last October, we shared a story featuring Jackie Kintz, cancer registrar, Data Quality Metrics, Parkview Cancer Institute. She bravely allowed us to sit beside her as she went through her first three chemotherapy treatments. Through her heroic decision to disclose the complex highs and lows, optimism and fears woven into her journey, perhaps others were helped in their own fight.
From the moment Jackie was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in July 2018 until the day in March when she rattled the rope to ring that beautiful bell signaling her final treatment, she always wore her signature smile. She was a pillar of gratitude, courage and hope, standing strong for all to see.
Now, a year later, we felt it appropriate to catch up with Jackie and see how she’s feeling as she begins a new chapter, cancer-free.
