Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) Implementation

About

The goal of this grant funded program is to reduce the morbidity and mortality of Substance Use Disorder (SUD)/Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in targeted Indiana rural communities by increasing the number of staff available to serve vulnerable individuals at risk for SUD/OUD, expanding rural access points, including telehealth, to increase access to SUD/OUD medications, addressing the stigma from health care providers toward individuals at risk for SUD/OUD and providing resources (e.g. Peer Recovery Specialists) in the community, courts and emergency rooms to ensure individuals are connected to comprehensive treatment options in a timely manner.

The program is built on the foundation of existing SUD/OUD programs, including drawing on the expertise and experience of current clinical and social services partners to offer a multi-faceted approach to providing SUD/OUD services, including Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), to individuals in the Northeast Indiana rural counties of DeKalb, LaGrange and Noble.
