Tim Mannigel will return to the sidelines of the Concordia Lutheran High School football team in the 2022 season, the school announced Thursday.
Mannigel stepped down after the 2020 season to focus solely on his role as Cadets athletic director. He will continue as athletic director, the school says.
Mannigel's return as coach comes after Mike Eshbach stepped down as Concordia's head coach after just one season.
Mannigel's first stint as head coach started in 2010. The Cadets won 59 games, including the 3A state championship in 2016. Mannigel has also led the Cadets to three sectionals titles, a regional title and one semi-state title. Mannigel served as an assistant coach at Concordia from 1997 to 2010.
