From West Noble to West Lafayette. That's the plan for Charger kicker Julio Macias.
Julio divulged Purdue University will be where he plays his college football starting next year. The 6'5", 230-lb. kicker announced the decision ahead of the West Noble boys basketball home opener against East Noble.
Julio had several offers from Power 5 conference schools, ultimately choosing the Boilermakers in a long recruiting process precipitated by Julio pursuing college football over college soccer.
Julio made 11-of-15 field goals and 13-of-13 extra points this past season for West Noble. He set a school record with a 47-yard field goal on September 24 at Garrett. He earned 1st team All-Northeast Corner Conference Big Division honors as a senior. He is regarded as the #1 kicker in the state of Indiana, and one of the best in the nations, according to Kicking World.
Julio is undecided on a major, but is leaning towards either business or mechanical engineering at Purdue.
