A Fort Wayne wrestler has added two international championships to his resume.
Snider freshman De'Alcapon Veazy won the Gold Medal in both the Greco-Roman discipline and the freestyle discipline on the 85 kilogram weight division at the U15 Pan-American Championships held this weekend in Oaxtepec, Mexico.
De'Alcapon beat a Brazilian opponent and then two from Mexico to capture Gold in his Greco-Roman matches on Friday, October 22. He followed that on with three wins over Brazilian and Mexican competitors in freestyle matches on Sunday, October 24.
The U.S. men's wrestling team swept the Greco-Roman and freestyle team championships. De'Alcapon and seven other Americans won Gold in both disciplines. Gralan Early, the head coach for Warrior Wrestling Club and assistant coach for Indiana Tech and Snider, served as an assistant coach for Team USA at the U15 Pan-American Championships.
