Keirstin Roose led off her senior campaign of Lakeland softball in a big way, tying and breaking the school's career home run in the season opener against Mishawaka.
Keirstin went 2-for-2 with 2 home runs in the first two innings--a 3-run shot in the first and a solo-shot--in the second--and now holds the school's home run record of 15.
She finished the game with 2 home runs, 4 RBI and 2 intentional walks.
She also holds school records for single-season batting average (.615), single-season RBI (44) with a full season to play after her junior season was canceled.
Keirstin signed her national letter of intent to play softball at Coastal Carolina University, a Division I program in Conway, South Carolina.
She also was an accomplished soccer and basketball player for the Lakers, earning All-Northeast Corner Conference honors in all three sports during her time at Lakeland.
