North Side High School senior Arieon McCarter will continue his football career at the collegiate level.
The Legends safety signed with the University of Indianapolis, an NCAA Division II program, during a signing ceremony on February 3.
Arieon was a predominantely defensive player for the Legends, which finished 5-6 this past season. He was second on the team with 74 tackles (61 solo, 13 assist, 2 for loss), and added 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. He was also lined up as a wide receiver on offense and kick returner on special teams, catching 1 touchdown reception.
Ariel earned was a two-time team defensive MVP, 1st team All-Summit Athletic Conference as senior and Honorable Mention All-Conference as a junior.
He plans to study business and minor in photography.
