Bailey Hartsough set Lakeland High School's all-time career scoring record on January 22, adding another milestone to her stellar hoops career.
Bailey's 26 points in the Lakers' 69-6 victory over Hamilton put the senior over the mark. Bailey sits at 1,545 career points (as of January 22), which is most for any boy or girl player in Lakeland history. The previous girls record was 1,519 points by Abby Neff in 2008.
Bailey's scoring record accompanies the career rebounds record (698), career steals (317, and career blocks record (128) at Lakeland.
As a senior, she is averaging 16.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 3.3 steals and 1.9 blocks per game. Lakeland is 17-6 overall and 7-3 in the Northeast Corner Conference.
An accomplished athlete, Bailey was previously selected All-NECC in basketball, All-State and All-Conference in volleyball and All-Conference in golf. She led the volleyball team to its first NECC championship in 21 years, and helped the girls golf team to back-to-back NECC titles.
Bailey signed her national letter of intent to play volleyball at Western Carolina University, an NCAA Division I program in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
