Blackhawk Christian basketball star Caleb Furst has made official his plans to play college basketball at Purdue University.
The 6'10" senior foward submitted his national letter of intent to join the Boilermakers on November 11, but held a National Signing Day Ceremony on November 12 at the school. He committed to Purdue in March, chosing the Boilers over offers from Indiana, Michigan State, Butler, Iowa, Virginia, North Carolina and several other NCAA Power 5 conference schools.
In a shortened junior season, Furst averaged 22.1 points, 13.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Over the last 3 seasons, the Blackhawk Christian has gone 78-8 with 3 sectional titles, 2 regional titles, 1 semi-state title and the 2019 1A state championship.
Nationally, Furst is ranked 30th by ESPN, 34th by 24/7 Sports and 38th by Rivals among recruits in the Class of 2021. He is a leading candidate for Indiana Mr. Basketball.
The Braves kick off their 2020-21 campaign on December 1 against North Side.
