South Side High School hosted the inaugural Bill Walker XC Invitational on Saturday, August 22.
Four schools competed in this meet, and enjoyed running a new course at the South Side Athletic Annex.
The invitational is named for Bill Walker, a long time cross country & track & field coach at South Side. He impacted the local running scene for many generations and is a member of the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame.
We are excited to grow this event into one of the premiere XC races in Northeast Indiana over the next five years," South Side athletic director Torrey Curry says.
Canterbury, North Side, and Bishop Luers are part of the original line-up of schools participating.
South Side Athletics would like to thank those schools for attending; and A special thanks to the South Side XC parents that have helped create the course, and then volunteered to run the meet.
