West Noble's Marano to retire from coaching at season's end

After 14 years as West Noble girls basketball head coach, Dale Marano will retire at the end of the girls basketball season.

Marano was honored by the school during his final home game on Friday, January 31. The players wore special red shirts bearing Marano's face. And a special thank you cake was served following the Lady Chargers' 38-36 win over Fairfield. West Noble closed out the regular season 10-12.

West Noble has a first-round bye for the sectionals, which get underway next week. They will face the winner of NorthWood and Tippecanoe Valley in the 3A Lakeland Sectional Semi-Final on Friday, February 7.

Dale MaranoMarano is 188-129 heading into postseason play in his 14th and final season. Last year, West Noble girls won their first sectional championship in 31 years.
