LAGRANGE, Ind. - Lakeland High School has a new athletic director.
The hiring of Roman Smith was approved Monday at the Lakeland School Corporation board meeting.
Smith comes to Lakeland after working in sports performance in Fort Wayne.
Smith, a Berne native, played football and competed in track & field at South Adams and at Trine. He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Trine and a master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University-Irvine.
He replaces Tim Gonderman, who retired at the end of last school year.
