Graduating seniors across Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio were honored Tuesday, June 11, during the 2024 Parkview Sports Medicine Albright Gemlick Scholarship banquet at Parkview Mirro Center for Research & Innovation. Eight winners were selected for their academic excellence, athletic achievement and community engagement. Winners each received an $8,000 scholarship made possible by Parkview Foundations.
Student-athletes were nominated by PSM athletic trainers assigned to the students’ schools or by PSM Performance specialists who train the athletes. Winners are selected among the nominees by PSM Working Committee.
Eligible student-athletes must participate in one sport their senior year and hold a grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (or 9.0 on a 12.0 scale).
This year, 73 nominees represent 31 high schools, two club sports organizations and the PSM EDGE sports performance program. Each nominee was recognized at the banquet with a video produced by the PSM Digital Outreach Team [All nominee videos are listed below] and a certificate.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Sonia Yoder of South Side High School (Group 1)
Sonia Yoder played softball and volleyball at South Side High School, earning varsity letters in both sports all four years. She was selected 1st Team All-Summit Athletic Conference as a catcher and named team MVP. In volleyball, she was 3rd Team All-SAC and won the Lundi Award. Sonia was active in Peacemakers, the French Club and the Athletic Leaders Committee. Sonia earned a 3.741 GPA. She plans to attend the Bethel University and pursue pre-physical therapy.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: James Hardy IV of New Haven High School (Group 2)
James Hardy IV played football and basketball at New Haven High School. He earned All-Northeast 8 Conference, All-State, Academic All-State, Athletic Scholar of the Week and Indianapolis Colts Academic All-Star Team while competing for the Bulldogs. James earned a 4.1 GPA, and ranked fourth in New Haven’s Class of 2024. He was a member of the National Honor Society and the NE8 Leadership & Sportsmanship Council. He also was named New Haven’s SERTOMA Award, which is considered the Heisman Trophy award for Allen County high school athletes. James will attend Purdue University and major in business, while playing football for the Boilermakers.

2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Madeline McCabe of Norwell High School & Empowered Volleyball Academy (Group 3)
Madeline McCabe is a standout volleyball player from Norwell High School and Empowered Volleyball Academy. She earned three varsity letters at Norwell, and earned All-NE8 honors. Madeline was a member of Norwell Student Council, National Honor Society, Wells County 4-H. At Empowered, she plays indoor and beach volleyball. She earned a 4.3 GPA. She has trained with PSM Performance through Empowered, as well. Madeline will attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, major in pre-professional biology, and play beach volleyball for the Mocs. She hopes to become a physician.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Adysen Andres of Stryker High School (Group 4)
Adysen Andres played softball and volleyball, competed in track & field, and cheered during football season at Stryker. In total, she earned eight varsity letters in four years. She was a member of the Stryker Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America, National Honor Society and Spanish-Art Club. She also coaches elementary school basketball. Adysen earned a 3.9 GPA in the classroom. She plans to attend Bowling Green State University and major in Inclusive Early Childhood Education.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Gracie Fields of Huntington North High School (Group 5)
Gracie Fields competed in girls basketball, girls track & field, girls cross country, girls soccer and for the dance team at Huntington North. She earned a total of 13 athletic letters—four in track, four in cross country, three in basketball, two in soccer—and two letters in dance. She was also captain of the hoops, track and cross teams. Outside of athletics, Gracie was a member of the National Honor Society, the Huntington North class council, Leadership Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participates in various community service projects. Gracie earned a 4.3 GPA. She will attend Marian University and study exercise science/kinesiology. She will also run for the Knights’ women’s track & field team.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Benjamin Barker of East Noble High School (Group 6)
Benjamin Barker played football, wrestled and ran track at East Noble. In football, Ben was 2nd team All-NE8 cornerback. In wrestling, he was sectional champion, state qualifier, and runner-up at the NE8 and regional meets in his weight class. Ben also participated in the National Honor Society, the robotics club and strength & conditioning at East Noble. He earned a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. Ben will pursue an electrical engineering degree at Trine University Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Kamden Zeisloft of Leo High School (Group 7)
Kamden Zeisloft was a three-sport athlete at Leo, competing in football, baseball and track & field. In football, he earned All-NE8, All-State and Academic All-State, and team defensive back MVP honors. The Lions won three NE8 championships, and advanced to semi-state his senior year. In baseball, Kam was part of a sectional title team. In track, he was an All-Conference runner in the 4x200-meter relay. Kam was active in National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Life. He is also a coach, referee and camp instructor for Leo Cub Football; and he helps in the children’s ministry at his church. Kam also does a lot of volunteering through his church’s youth group, children’s ministry and missions trips in Guatemala and inner-city Indianapolis. Kam will attend Indiana Wesleyan University to study exercise science with a pre-physical therapy concentration, and play football for the Wildcats.
2024 Albright Gemlick Scholarship Winner: Jack Culler of Woodlan High School (Carter Fleck Memorial Scholarship & Group 8)
Each year, Parkview Sports Medicine awards the Carter Fleck Memorial Scholarship as part of the Albright Gemlick Excellence Scholarships. The award is named for Carter Fleck, a 17-year-old Homestead High School who passed away from cancer in 2016. The Carter Fleck Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a nominee who demonstrates exceptional character. The 9th annual Carter Fleck Memorial Scholarship goes to Jack Culler of Woodlan High School.
Jack Culler played football and wrestled at Woodlan. In football, he was a two-time captain and earned three letters. In wrestling, Jack qualified for semi-state as a senior, lettered four times and was team captain three times. Volunteering is important for Jack, who can be found helping the Unified Sports teams at Woodlan, teaching Sunday School at his church, coaching the junior high wrestling club and working the concession stands at Woodlan sporting events. Jack earned a 3.82 GPA, and his heading to Trine University to study mechanical engineering.
