Members of the Wayne High School football team spent the early morning hours of another Football Friday helping out students at Waynedale Elementary School.
Jacob Sharin Jr., Ashton Berkey, Darrion Alexander, Deonte Williams Jr., Cooper Richardson and Peyton Alt greeted the youngsters as they arrived at school. The Generals walked some students to their classes ahead of the last day of the school for the week. Athletic director Gary Raber and athletic office administrative assistant Jake Sharin Sr. joined the players at Waynedale, which is a feeder elementary school to Wayne High School.
The Wayne football team takes to the gridiron again tonight, when then Generals host Homestead. Wayne is 2-0 for the first time since 2014. The Generals are looking to beat the Spartans for the first time since 1992. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
