Following Snider's convincing win over state powerhouse Indianapolis Warren Central on Friday, Panther head coach Kurt Tippmann has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week for the entire state of Indiana.
5A #2 Snider beat 6A #6 Warren Central, 42-20, beating the Warriors for the first time since 1992. Quarterback Ke'ron Billingsley led the Panthers to victory, rushing 22 times for 101 yards and three touchdowns, while passing 8-for-15 for 131 yards. Running back Uriah Buchanan added 170 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
As part of the recognition, Snider High School received a $2,000 donation for the athletic department--$1,000 from the NFL Foundation and $1,000 from Corteva Agriscience. Mike Prior, the Colts Youth Football Commissioner, visited Snider Wednesday morning to recognize Tippmann.
Additionally, Tippmann was given a commemorative plaque and an Indianapolis Colts hat.
Each Monday during the season, the Indianapolis Colts name a Coach of the Week from the high school head coaches across the Hoosier State. In addition to team's on-field performance, coaches are evaluated for impact on the team, the school and the community. Winners are chosen by a panel of football media, former athletic directors and other football officials across the state.
Tippmann previously won the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week in October of 2021.
Snider, which ascended to #1 in Class 5A after its victory, turns its attention to East Noble and a non-conference showdown this Friday night in Kendallville.
