The Summit City is once again hosting athletes from around the world, as the State Wars United States Roller Hockey Championships will be played over the next two weeks.
Nearly 300 teams from the United States, Canada and other continents are competing in the tournament, July 18 through 31 at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse.
Some 10,000 players, parents and tournament officials will visit Fort Wayne during State Wars, making it the largest in-line roller hockey event in the North America, according to Visit Fort Wayne.
The 14-day tournament expects to bring more than $3 million to the local economy, Visit Fort Wayne adds.
This is the sixth time in 19 years that State Wars has brought United States Roller Hockey Championships to Fort Wayne.
Admission is free for the public, and a full schedule of games can be found here.
