Following months of anticipation, Tae Johnson committed to his college football plans, electing to join the University of Notre Dame.
Tae, a four-star wide receiver and safety at North Side High School, chose Notre Dame during an announcement Saturday that was livestreamed on 24/7 Sports. He chose the Fighting Irish over a laundry list of programs across the country, and picked the Notre Dame, in part, because it was the only school to recruit him on defense.
Purdue and Tennessee were the two other finalists, as the 6'3", 180-lb. senior-to-be shared earlier on social media earlier this month.
In his junior season, Tae amassed 69 receptions for 1,081 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. He added 153 return yards. On defense, he tallied 23 tackles and a field goal block.
