Northrop guard Saniya Jackson scored her 1,000th career point on Wednesday.
Saniya surpassed the milestone with a free throw in the second quarter of the Bruins victory over Northridge. Saniya finished with 15 points for the game, reaching 1,004 for her career split between two seasons at Northrop and two seasons at Carroll.
Saniya is averaging 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.3 steals per game so far this season. She was selected 1st team All-Summit Athletic Conference her junior and sophomore seasons.
She will play college basketball at Valparaiso University.
Northrop (12-1, 4-0 in SAC) is off to a 12-1 start and is ranked #6 in the Class 4A Associated Press poll. The Bruins will face Snider (13-3, 5-0) on Friday with significant conference title implications at stake.
