Northrop High School has turned to a longtime Snider assistant coach to be the Bruins' new football coach.
Quentin Bowen's hiring was approved Monday by the Fort Wayne Community Schools board, and announced by the Northrop athletic department Twitter account shortly thereafter. He replaces Jason Doerffler, who became the head coach at Leo this offseason.

Bowen had been an assistant coach at Snider since 2004, serving as offensive coordinator and runningbacks coach for the Panthers. He was an accomplished tailback at Snider, too, leading the Panthers to a sectional championship and winning the Dean Fast Offensive Team MVP award as a senior. Bowen played college football at Rochester Technical Community College.
Bowen works in the FWCS technology department.
Northrop is holding a meet-and-greet with Bowen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the school.
