Programs we support in Wabash County

Through the generous donations of Wabash community members to the Parkview Health Foundation, Parkview Wabash Hospital has multiple programs that enhance and help the community of Wabash and Parkview patients.

Veggie Rx

Veggie Rx is a produce prescription program that helps support individuals who lack insurance, are food insecure, or on Medicare/ Medicaid. If a Parkview patient living in Wabash County has obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, or an at-risk pregnancy, they may be eligible to enroll in this program. Veggie Rx is a six-month program that provides enrollees with both financial and educational resources to improve their health and help put a stop to their food insecurity.

Healing Arts

The Healing Arts program brings different musicians and artists to Parkview Wabash Hospital to interact with patients and lift their spirits. Studies have proven that art therapy improves mental health and raises serotonin levels, two very important aspects to healing the body. The healing artists travel throughout the hospital whether that be to infusion, Med/Surg units or the lobby. The Healing Arts program provides Parkview patients with the opportunity to partake in visual art activities, listen to music, have the artist create a picture for them and more. This program has benefited countless Parkview patients with peace and relaxation.

Walking Path

The Parkview Wabash Hospital walking path serves many patrons every day, and soon the expansion will be complete, making the path a full mile. The Parkview Wabash hospital community, patients and co-workers love utilizing this path for daily exercise, dog walking, picnics under the pavilion and chatting with friends. It has been a wonderful addition to the hospital’s campus and with the upcoming expansion, we expect it to gain even more traction. On the inside brim of the pond, native grasses and wildflowers will be planted, which should attract many birds, butterflies and other native creatures to the Wabash hospital campus.

Maternal health

The Parkview Wabash Hospital’s Maternal Health Program strives to provide new mothers with the resources they need post-partum and beyond. This program has connected new moms with one another, giving the opportunity to learn from others and make friends. New mothers can ask questions to a registered nurse and are given a variety of classes to take. Classes include child and infancy CPR classes, safe sleep classes and car seat safety programs. Parkview Wabash Hospital is proud to offer such a great program that focuses its effort on improving the health and wellbeing of Wabash’s youngest community members.
