About brain injury

Injury to the brain can range from a mild concussion to a severe head injury. A blow to the head, a fall or other injury that shakes the brain can cause bruising or swelling.

Symptoms of a brain injury can include:

  • Difficulty remembering new information

  • Headache, vision problems or dizziness

  • Feeling sad, nervous or easily angered

  • Change in sleep pattern

Individuals with a slight head injury can recover with rest.

However, more serious injuries might need one or more of the following:

  • Physical therapy

  • Medication

  • Counseling

The Parkview Rehabilitation Center can provide rehabilitation services for those who have experienced a brain injury.
