Chemical dependency is not a weakness. It is a treatable disease that millions of Americans suffer from each year, and recovery is possible with the right support and personal commitment. Parkview RecoveryWay can help people with alcohol, illegal drug or prescription drug addictions regain a sense of empowerment and improved well-being.
Recognizing the warning signs of substance abuse issues, and knowing when to seek help, is important. Here’s what to look for:
Alcohol or drug abuse
Inability to give up alcohol or drug use despite negative consequences
Withdrawal symptoms when giving up alcohol or drug use
Noticeable personality changes/extreme mood swings
Chronic anger or irritability
Poor school or job performance
Parkview RecoveryWay provides three phases of treatment:
Education helps you understand what has led to the need for treatment and assists you in building self-awareness, self-esteem and valuable interpersonal skills. Your family and friends can also receive education about addiction and mental health.
Therapeutic intervention examines the impact of alcohol and drug abuse on you – as well as your friends and family – and helps you regain a sense of empowerment.
Aftercare offers free continued support as you apply the tools of recovery to daily living. This phase of treatment is available to those who successfully complete, and follow the guidelines of, the RecoveryWay program.
Sessions are held three hours a day, three days a week, for six to eight weeks, enabling you or your loved one to engage in daily routines and continue living at home. Family members and significant others are strongly encouraged to be actively involved in the treatment process because their support is crucial to success.
